Tue, 10 Nov 2009 16:44:24 +0000 http://wordpress.org/?v=2.8.6 en hourly 1 Black Berry Curve http://moldyjello.com/2008/05/22/black-berry-curve/ http://moldyjello.com/2008/05/22/black-berry-curve/#comments Thu, 22 May 2008 12:33:57 +0000 jelly http://moldyjello.com/?p=177 I really like the phone, I like how it feels, how it sounds and how it works.  Now one thing I’m not happy with is the email syncing through tmobile.  Basically its a pop redirect so that emails come to the phone, however it doesn’t sync the contacts, calendar or anything like that.  We will be installing the 60 day trial of a BES (Black Berry Enterprise Server) today to see how that works.  From what I’m told that will make everything work much better.  the BES is kind of expensive but if you are a small company you can get a small business edition with 5 licenses for around 1100, which isn’t too bad.

One thing with the BES is that your plan from your cell phone carrier needs to be the enterprise blackberry plan which on tmobile costs $10 more per month.  Why I’m not sure since basically you are paying $10 extra per month to use your own email system instead of theirs.  Seems a little backwards if you ask me.

Hopefully it installs easily today and we will be back up and running, because of course one thing I didn’t realize is when I made the switch on my plan to the enterprise plan is they would shut off my other way of doing email.  So I haven’t received any email on my phone since yesterday :(
