I need to get back to the gym and hold off on the beer…. I also need a bunch of money but thats another store… why isn’t life ever easy.

HTC G1 android tmobile

By jelly | September 24, 2008

after watching everything yesterday, I think this phone will do well. And if the wife likes it I’ll probably get one for her. It doesn’t have GPS which is a little disappointing, and no exchange support but other than that I’ll give it a closer look when it actually comes up.

Since she will use it for email, texting, and surfing I think this will work well for her.

today is android day

By jelly | September 23, 2008

I must say I’m a little excited about this. I really want to know what it has. However some reports have it only having gmail and no corporate email support. If this is true, which I doubt, that would be terrible and make the phone only for casual users.

I guess we will wait and see.

browser

By jelly | September 22, 2008

well the browser is packing it in on my blackberry curve 8320. I get exception errors everytime I try to run it.

So I just downloaded the opera mini browser, I will see how it works but at first glance it looks good. I installed it as follows because when I tried to install through the desktop client it said that it wasn’t compatible.

Install via mobile download

1. Point your phone’s WAP browser to http://mini.opera.com/ and click on Download Opera Mini.
2. Answer ‘Yes’ to all installation messages and enjoy browsing the full Web, right on your mobile phone!

weekend

By jelly | September 22, 2008

I didnt get to go to the lifetime fitness this weekend, too much stuff to do around the house and after moving the swamp cooler by myself the last thing I thought about doing was going to the gym and lifting more weights.

Now I need to try to squeeze in two runs this week to keep up with my at least 2 a week workouts.

Still no coffee though, but it seems lots of beer :)

google android, htc dream

By jelly | September 18, 2008

The new HTC/Android phone is supposed to be annouced on the 23rd of September. I am looking forward to this to see what it has and how it functions. From what I’ve seen on videos posted it looks pretty good. I don’t think I will switch to this phone unless it has something amazing. The Blackberry email is just too good, however I am thinking if the wife likes it I could get it for her. She wants something with a keyboard and I think she would use it for surfing alot so I think it would be a good fit for her.

We will see what it has when it is announced, big pluses for me will be if it has exchange support, VOIP, or integration with Skype, GPS (then I can maybe claim the wife’s Nuvi until the Blackberry Bold is released)

Obviously also I want a browser but assuming that this is going to have the chrome its going to work fine.

workout

By jelly | September 18, 2008

Well I went and worked out at liftime fitness last night, and I was really sore when I was done but I breezed through the workout.

Ran for 30 minutes, fairly intensly, I still can’t run for 30 minutes staright but I think that will be coming soon. then I went through the weights, doing what I normally do but at a fast pace. Normally it takes me about an hour to do the weights but I finished up in about 35 minutes last night. The results was last night my body was really fatigued, lifting anything was a struggle. This morning nothing hurts but I can tell that I had worked out he night before which is good.

I am very happy because the reebok heart strap and watch that I had bought from woot a while back for $20.00 must be made with polar technology because when I stepped on the treadmill it registered on the read out. This means that I can monitor my heart rate while I’m running and keep it in specific zones. I really need to get a VO2 test so that I can know exactly where I should be but until that happens I stay in the 175 beats per minute range for the first 20 minutes then try to lower it down in the 160’s.

house woes

By jelly | September 17, 2008

So the builders mudd jacker is coming today to look at the front steps.

Hopefully they will tell the GC the same thing ours told us, that the concrete was done wrong and thats why its sinking. Then the question is can the GC go back to the concrete company and get them to fix it.

I haven’t been able to use the front door of the house for a couple weeks because I don’t want to break the entire walkway off so I hope this gets fixed soon.

new drill

By jelly | September 16, 2008

My cordless drill of 10 years packed it in on the weekend.
One of the batteries died a few months back and now the other one packed it in. Rather than buying two new batteries (if I could find them which is doubtful since they don’t make the drill anymore) I bought a new drill

Its a very small Ridgid 12v Lithium ION drill

Ridgid 12v drill

So far I’m very happy with it, I haven’t done to much but it has alot of power, and they say the lithium ION battery will last 1.7 times that of the previous 12v batteries. The small size is very handy getting into tight spaces.
