Another Problem with the petsafe collars

Monday, April 14th, 2008

I had another new problem with the collars this weekend, went and looked and one of the dogs collars is missing the battery.
They switched the new collars so the batteries are not internal to the collar they are not attached to the outside with their own housing.
Obviously I liked them better being inside and screwed [...]

Ubuntu Desktop

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

Well with updates yesterday Ubuntu managed to break my evolution and flash in firefox :)  However with the updates today everything seems to be fixed and running smooth.  I was forced to run vista yesterday because of all the problems I was having, today is much better and I’m back on linux.  I still need [...]

Evolution Frustrations

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

I continue to have more and more frustrations with Evolution’s exchange connector.
It ran really good yesterday and was happy today when I saw updates  today for evolution.  However after installing it seems to work worse than before.  :(  I’ve got alot of things to do today so I’m going to stick with vista until I [...]

Finally got my java working in ubuntu.

Saturday, April 5th, 2008

To refresh, I could always get java installed, however if I installed Sun JRE 1.6 my desktop applications would run, but not my web applets.  If I installed the IceTea version that mozilla wanted it would fix my Webaps and they would work however it would break my desktop applications.
Installed Sun JRE package from Synaptic, [...]

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

I had a user today who had emails missing from their inbox in evolution (on Ubunutu).  If they went into the exchange owa they could see that they were still all on the server however they were not in their evolution inbox.
to fix this I shutdown the evolution client

evolution –force-shutdown

Then deleted the the .evolution/exchange folder [...]

Petsafe dog collars

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

They really should go to a buckle instead of those plastic snaps.  I understand that the plastic snaps are easy to take on and off but with my dogs,  my old ones and my new ones, when they get playing and biting on each others necks they break the claps really easily.  When I had [...]

Evolution mail owa exchange connector

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

The biggest hurdle that I am trying to come to grips with these days in my linux desktop project is the evolution owa exchange connector.  This thing is really buggy, I am constantly crashing evolution, and constanting getting syncing errors.
Today I also had the worst possible scenario where I sent and email and it went [...]
