evolution missing emails from exchange

I had a user today who had emails missing from their inbox in evolution (on Ubunutu). If they went into the exchange owa they could see that they were still all on the server however they were not in their evolution inbox.
to fix this I shutdown the evolution client
evolution --force-shutdown
Then deleted the the .evolution/exchange folder and .evolution/mail/exchange folder
rm -r .evolution/exchange
rm -r .evolution/mail/exchange
Then restart evolution and all the emails should be there.
