First big benefit for running Ubuntu linux over windows
By jelly | March 26, 2008
Okay its not a big benefit as far as features go but for alot of what I do during the day it will help alot, and I kind of just stumbled upon it.
I get alot of emails asking for changes to databases, or changes to documents. I have a dual screen setup and normally would just put the email on one screen and the db or document on the other. However some times I need even more things open at the same time, and I end up switching back and forth. Well today I had an email with some simple db changes, email was small and I right clicked on the header of the email and there it was. A check box for always on top, Checked it and then my reference document is always about the putty session, so I could easily reference it while typing. I didn’t believe how simple it was, I even thought to myself maybe windows has this to so I booted back into windows to try to see if I could do it in there, nope not an option. Chalk one up for Ubuntu Linux, I did have to make a similar change while in windows and was forced to adjust window sizes so I could see the documents. So this is defintely a plus for me.
