Frustration with life and linux ;-)

So I’ve hit a hurdle on my ubuntu desktop linux project for some reason it does not want to work on my computer with this video card, The Xorg.conf file it is building is to put it mildly is all screwed up :) took the video card out put it in another linux box and it found it right away. So its something here. Also I have something wrong with my monitors, they are not working correct in linux. I have Rosewill R912E, a search of the net found lots of people with the problem on ubuntu linux but it seems you just need edit the Xorg.conf file so that the refresh rates are lower. We will see if I get that far. I’ll probably copy in a ready to go xorg.conf file today from another computer and see how that works.

Funniest thing, and I mean funny not in ha ha, but more in the OH LORD WHY ME kind of way. my monitors have VGA and DVI ports, I currenlty run them on VGA cables with VGA DVI adapters where they plug into the video card. Last night, late enough that I wanted to go home, I thought he wonder if it will work with DVI cables. I’ve seen weirder things, well that didn’t work so then I went back to VISTA. These montitors don’t work with vista on DVI cables…..wtf? So now I’m on Windows this morning with VGA cables.

Hopefully I’ll get some time this afternoon to work on the Ubuntu Linux desktop project however actual work is getting in the way of my pet project.
