competitiveness

By jelly | March 11, 2008

How do you become non-competitive?  I have competed in sports my whole life, I was introduced to them when I was 3 and played every sport imaginable, Football, Baseball, Hockey, Soccer, for probably 4-5 years between 5 and 10 I played all of these sports in the same time.  Is it really my fault that I get angry start swearing when my 4 year old beats me at candyland?

Okay its not that bad, I don’t swear :)  And I have gotten to the happy place of where I can let the kids win, but inside its still a struggle, I find myself going, let them win, don’t go for the kill, and the only way I can make that happen is to think.  oh I soooo could have won right there I rule because I could have one but didn’t so that my kids are happy.  I’m pittiful.

Another thing I struggle with is that I played alot of cards and board games as a kid, my family plays them constantly and because of that we play them fast, meaning if its your turn you go, and you are paying attention to the game all the time.  My wife likes to talk chat tell jokes, play around…… ROLL THE DICE ITS YOUR TURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!….   oh how it grates on me :)  its like fingernails on a chalk board to me.  the dice are in front of you all you have to do is pick them up and roll them.   ARGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!

I think I need help.

I haven’t played any competitive sports for a while maybe I should start again, or maybe that would make it worse.

I dislike people who are playing and not paying attention… if you don’t want to play the game, then leave the game.
