silly restaurants

By jelly | February 19, 2008

I’ve always had the opinion that it was stupid to go to a restaurant and order a fajita,  why would I go out and pay someone so that I can assemble my own food.  I can do that at home at much less expense.  Or if I don’t want to cook why not order a burrito so that I don’t have to do that step.  Its not like the fajita is less expensive than the burrito even though I’m assembling it for them.

On saturday I even saw something even more insane.  I went to a high end steak restaurant.  By high end I mean steaks are between $28.00 and $40.00 depending on the cut.  What this place does is when you order the steak the bring you a raw steak with seasoning on it and a hot stone.  Then you are supposed to cut the steak into pieces or slices and then cook it yourself.  So let me get this straight, for $40.00 I get the joy for cooking my own meal, like I can do home… any day for a hell of a lot less money.  Oh but I do get sides, yes a scoop of mashed potatoes and a few veggies.  Soon I’m going to go out and they are even going to give me the thrill of washing my own dishes.
