Buying a car

By jelly | October 19, 2007

Well I have been trying to buy a car now for about 90 days.  The problem is the wife’s car is a lease, and the lease is expired.   She is way over on miles, like 50,000 over O_o.   at at 0.20 per mile that equates to about 10,000 just to walk away from the car, or I have the other option to buy the car outright for 15,000.  Neither are good options in my mind.

I started working with dealers, saying here is what I have and here is what I want.  They would run the numbers over the internet with me, coming back with rediculous numbers like 1000, or 1100 per month.  I had almost given up on it and resided to the fact that I would have to buy the car, and its a car we don’t want anymore.

I happened to be talking to a friend last week and he was experiencing car problems and told me about working with a broker to get a good deal on a car.  I figured I had nothing to loose so I called him.  A week later we are getting a new car.  For half the payment the dealership offered me and most important to me I never had to set foot in a dealership.  I would recommend this way of purchasing a car to everyone.  He offered to bring cars to us to test drive. and now that we are purchasing he is bringing the car to us for delivery.

So far I am 100% satisfied, I guess we will find out for sure when we actually receive the car.  And I hope the wife is happy with it ;-)
